Face Invaders Privacy Policy

Hi, I'm the solo developer behind the game. Here's exactly what happens with your stuff — in plain English, no lawyer-speak.

Last updated: 27 July 2026

The short version

Your photos stay on your phone and are never uploaded anywhere. The only thing I collect is anonymous gameplay stats that can't be traced back to you. No ads, no accounts, nothing sold to anybody.

Your photos and faces

The game has no photo-library permission, so iOS never asks you for one and the game has no way to browse your album. Picking pictures happens in Apple's own photo picker, which runs outside the game — it only receives the specific pictures you choose.

From there, everything happens right on your device. Your phone finds the faces using Apple's built-in Vision framework — I never see your pictures.

The face crops are stored only in the app's own storage on your phone. They are never uploaded to my server or anywhere else. When you remove a face in the game, or delete the app, that data is gone.

The detailed walkthrough of exactly where photos go is here.

What I do collect

To understand how people play and make the game better, the app sends me some anonymous, lumped-together gameplay events. For example:

That install id just lets me tell one anonymous playthrough apart from another. It is not your name, and it is not the advertising identifier (IDFA). It isn't tied to you, and it's used only to improve the game.

What I DON'T collect

There are no third-party ad SDKs, no ad networks, and no outside analytics tools in the app. The only network calls the game makes are to Apple (for purchases) and to my own analytics server.

This website

This site counts how many people visit, and nothing else. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device — which is also why there's no annoying cookie banner.

To tell one visit from another without a cookie, the server turns your IP address and browser type into a one-way scrambled code. That code is all that gets saved: your IP address itself is never written down. The recipe for scrambling it changes every night, so a code saved today can't be matched to one from yesterday, and it can't be turned back into your IP.

Alongside it I keep the page you looked at and, if you arrived from a link, the website you came from — just the site's name, never the full address. There are no third-party analytics, no ad pixels and no trackers of any kind on these pages. Even the fonts are served from this site, so loading a page here doesn't quietly tell Google about it either.

Purchases

The optional gem purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. I never see your card number or any payment details — Apple just tells the app that a purchase went through.

Who I share data with

Nobody. No third parties, no ad networks, no data brokers. The anonymous gameplay stats go only to my own server, and they stay there.

Children

Face Invaders is family-friendly. I don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. There's no account, no sign-up, and nothing personal being gathered in the first place.

Deleting your data

Everything personal lives on your device, so deleting the app wipes it all. The anonymous gameplay stats I keep can't be traced back to you, so there's nothing to "delete" that's tied to your identity.

If you have any questions about your data, just email me using the button below and I'll help.

Changes to this policy

If anything here changes, I'll update this page and bump the "last updated" date at the top. Nothing sneaky.
